The Hartford United U-12 girls team took 2nd place at the 7th annual Dhaliwal/Mequon United Fall Cup tournament held in Mequon, WI on October 15-16, 2005.
On Saturday afternoon Hartford faced Whitefish Bay's #1 team. A strong defensive effort was needed against WFB's talented strikers resulting in a 2-1 victory. Sunday morning it was FC Milwaukee White - a club which always has skilled teams. Two highlight goals paced this 3-1 win - a full volley deflection off a corner kick and a header into the net. Sunday afternoon featured Grafton resulting in a physical game and a tight 2-0 win. The girl's 3 victories resulted in 26 points in bracket play and an advancement to the championship round.
In the championship it was Hartford against a team from DePere. Hartford played excellent ball control and had the better of possession time and shots on goal but were unable to finish several good opportunities. Congratulations girls on some very well played soccer!
