In match play Hartford beat Polonia Force 1-0, tied Pewaukee 0-0 and lost to WISLA SAC 2-0. WISLA SAC was in the championship due to their 3-0 record. Hartford also advanced to the championship via a 3-way tie among teams with identical 1-1-1 records.
In the championship game, WISLA SAC scored in the first half with a shot that seemed to go in slow motion past Hartford’s stopper, sweeper and goalie. A WISLA SC player was moving to the right of goal and had all following him. From about 16 out he placed it just behind all 3 of Hartford’s players. In the second half WISLA SC took the ball to the far right corner. It seemed as though Hartford’s fullback, in attacking the ball was taken out by their player, but there was no call. The WISLA SC player crossed the ball perfectly to the 12. His teammate performed a most beautiful bicycle kick and scored their second goal. Hartford still had the fight in them and on an in-direct kick, Tad H. placed a ball perfectly to the stopper Alex R., who was flying through calling for the ball. With a nice kick, Alex R. placed it to the back of the net, leaving Hartford down 2-1 with about 4 minutes left. A very dramatic and physical game ended at 2-1 and a 2nd place finish for Hartford.
The team is Alex R., Brad S., Caleb C., Chris B., Chris B., Chris T., Cody H., Corey W., Greg P., Joe B., John F., Jordan C., Michelle K., Tad H., Trevor B. and Zach F. Coaches are Sean Hampe and Dave Corey.
